It’s happened to us all. We decide to rewatch a movie that we loved years ago, and lo and behold we are blown away to discover the actor in such a nothing role is a big time star today. Everyone has to start somewhere, so here are 10 actors that pop in in unexpected places.

10: Jake Gyllenhaal – City Slickers

The funny 1991 western starring Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern was positively received, making $180 million at the box office. Those who tune in today will be in for a surprise, as Crystal’s young son is played by none other than Jake Gyllenhaal, the man behind Brokeback Mountain, Jar Head, Nightcrawler and October Sky

9: Vince Vaughn – Rudy

The funny man has become a household name in comedy thanks to hits like Old School and Wedding Crashers. Fans of the 1993 underdog football flick Rudy may be surprised to find out the Vaughn appears as none other than Notre Dame quarterback Jamie O’Hara in his big screen debut.

8: Seth Rogen – Donnie Darko

The man behind Pineapple Express, Knocked Up and Super Bad helped shape popular comedy today. Back in 2001, he made his big screen debut in cult-hit Donnie Darko, playing Ricky Danforth next to Gyllenhaal.

7: Aaron Paul – The Price is Right

Before he was lighting up screens as everyone’s favorite drug dealer in Breaking Bad, Paul appeared on the the Price is Right. Paul made it all the way to the Showcase Showdown where he overbid by $132 dollars.

6: Elijah Woods – Back to the Future Part II

Before he was saving the world as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings, Woods was credited as none other than video game boy in 1989’s Back to the Future II.

5: Laurence Fishburne – Pee-wee’s Playhouse

Fishburne was nominated for an Academy Award for his work as Ike Turner in 1994’s What’s Love Got to Do With It. The Respected actor has lit up the screen in the Matrix and Mystic River. But, I bet you didn’t know Fishburne spent 17 episodes on Pee-wee’s Playhouse as Cowboy Curtis.

4: Philip Seymour Hoffman and Samuel L. Jackson – Law and Order

Law and Order had a 20- year run as one of TV’s most watched shows. No other episode will come close to season one episode 14, which featured both Hoffman and Jackson.

3: Milla Kunis – Baywatch

Before she was lighting up you screens as Jackie Burkhart and Meg Griffin on That 70’s Show and Family Guy respectively, Kunis appeared on another long-running television show. She appeared in two episodes of Baywatch back when she was 11.
